AFRICAN METHODIST EPISCOPAL
This is a ministry of Allen Temple AME Church created as a welcoming and affirming space for emerging adults to discern, define & deepen their connection to the Divine.
While the target audience is emerging adults ages 18-39, all are welcome to attend. The SPACE at Allen Temple gathers every first Thursday, 6:30pm, with additional opportunities to gather for fellowship, study and civic engagement throughout the month.

The Commission on Worship & Creative Arts is charged with ministering a dynamic atmosphere of worship through choral singing, spoken word, liturgical dance and other creative expressions of the Divine Spirit. It includes oversight of all choirs, praise teams and ministries that creative expression. This Commission is always seeking people who desire to minister. Contact the church to inquire about how your gifts may flourish through the ministries herein.
Allen Temple Mass Choir - ministers every 1st Sunday; rehearsals are the three Saturdays and the Thursday prior to the first Sunday at 11am and 6pm repectively. All Ages and abilities are welcome.
Old Time Religion Singers - ministers every 2nd Sunday; rehearsals are as needed. Contact Mrs. Cora Weaver for more information.
Pastor's Worship & Praise- ministers 3rd Sundays and at the invitation of the pastor; individual singers, musicians, and other creative arts are invited to minister alongside Pastor Gladden each month. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up.
Youth Worship & Arts- school age youth singers, dancers and other creative expressions minister every 4th Sunday; rehearsals are generally Wednesdays at 6pm. Contact Rev. Tanya Smith for more information.

The Commission on Youth & Young Adults is charged with ministering to youth and young adults of Allen Temple and its surrounding community during every stage of development from birth to young adulthood. It includes oversight of all ministries that involve youth and young adult ages birth to thirty-five. Given the broad age demographic of this commission, the ministries are divided accordingly to maximize effectiveness:
Nursery Ministry (ages birth to age four)- available every Sunday on the lower level during the 11am morning worship. Contact: Sis. Roxzann Weaver
Children's Church (ages five to eleven)- held every 2nd and 3rd Sunday during the 11am morning worship. Contact: Rev. Tanya Smith
Youth Ministry (ages twelve to seventeen)- meetings held monthly on the third Friday and as announced. Contact: Sis. Brittani Flowers

This group is open to women and men of all ages who seek to serve the Lord by serving the Lord's people through missions. Planning meetings are held every second Saturday of the month, except holidays, at 11 AM. Missions projects are carried out throughout the year both locally and abroad. Additionally, young people ages two to twenty six are afforded opportunities to serve as members of the Young People's Division of the Missionary Society. This auxiliary serves as the training and leadership development program of the international missions activities of the African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Everyone in the AME Church, except ordained clergy, is a Lay Person. The Allen Temple Lay Organization actively supports the total program of the local church and the Indiana Annual Conference Lay Organization. Annually members are encouraged to participate locally by making financial contributions to show their support and be recognized as members of the Allen Temple Lay Organization. Meetings are as announced.

In 2 Timothy 2:15, it is recorded "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a worker that does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." At Allen Temple, we take seriously the admonishment to study together as a church family. Multiple opportunities to study together are available for adults and youth.
